"Suicide Is Selfish?"

"What shall i do today? Maybe i'll throw myself under a train and fuck up a few people's journey to work" - I GUARANTEE, this was not the thought of the person who jumped in front of a train this morning and stopped trains running on the Victoria line. I understand, we all have lives, and busy schedules to live by, and jobs to go to etc, but please spare a few minutes of your life to think about what you are actually saying here.

This morning i woke up and did the obligatory scroll through Twitter and Facebook, to see at least 5 tweets/status' about the Victoria line being down, one even went as far to say something along the lines of "Some silly C%^T has thrown themselves under my train so now i'm late for work, selfish twat"
How lovely is that? Not only was the status full of wonderful language, it also was one of the most small minded comments i'd ever seen. Being someone who has experienced the effects of suicide, i hold the topic quite close to my heart, and i'm fiercely defensive about it.
Imagine your Mum/Dad/Sister/Brother/Best Friend feeling so unimaginably low, and shit about life, that they feel the only option is to end it. Imagine, not being able to help that person, loving them so much, and not being able to help them find a way to make it better. Imagine BEING that person. Have you ever been a bit down, and used the word depressed? I thought so. Some people experience depression to the most extreme level, and can't see a way out. Imagine that was you. I'm very well aware of all the variety of different mental illness' can lead to suicidal thoughts, are you? Have you ever looked further than your own nose and delved into someone elses life? I thought not. Mental illness is a disease, something that can be controlled by medication, but not always. Imagine not being in control of your own actions and thoughts.
A lot of people's argument to this will be "Why didn't they kill themselves in a way that doesn't effect anyone else?"" I'll tell you why. 1. They probably woke up that morning and without planning or being nervous or afraid, just went straight to the train station and just did it. Because more often than not, these people are ill, they don't think straight and they want to die. Quickly. I'm guessing that must be one of the quickest ways to die. Just think about it guys, its 2014 for god sake. Lets open up our minds.
When you woke up next to your Boyfriend/Girlfriend/Husband or Wife this morning, you probably had a shower, had breakfast, kissed them goodbye, and walked to the train station on time for work. Whilst on the train, or on arrival at the train station you see that your normal train has been delayed, due to a suicide on the rail. If your first thought was about how SELFISH that person was, then i think you need to take a long hard look at yourself. Are you HEALTHY? Are you HAPPY? Do you have enough to EAT? Do you have a HOME? Yes? THEN WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU STRESSING FOR?

Get the bus to work. Walk, frolic, stroll, skip, to work for all i care. If you think for one minute that i care about you being late to work, i don't. I'm sorry, I just really don't. The hour that you just lost, is NOTHING compared to the life that someone just lost.
Take a small moment out of your life, maybe to pray, or maybe just a moment to yourself, to think about the family that just lost their son. The husband who just lost his fiancee. The wife who just lost her Husband of 25 years. The little girl who just lost her daddy. Think about all of the things that makes your life wonderful. You might not live in a 7 bedroom home, and you might not drive a Lambo, but you're life is okay right? yeah.

Below are examples of the not so nice things, and a great message from TFL. (enjoy my attempts at hiding peoples identity, although none of them deserve it!)

My thoughts are with the person who lost their life this morning, and their family and friends.
