Miss GB stripped of her crown, for having sex.
Yesterday, Zara Holland from Love Island was stripped of her title 'Miss Great Britain' because she had sex.
Let me just start by saying, at first like others, I thought this story was a bit funny, until I started thinking about it properly. Love island is a light hearted show full of young people competing for 50k so it's easy to get caught up and forget that so many people watch this programme. So many young people.
'de-crowing' Zara as miss GB is the most vile thing, I have ever heard. Telling someone she can no longer wear a fucking shiny crown, because she had sex. SEX. Let's just take a minute, because last time I checked, sex is how you make a baby, sex is something that pretty much everyone does. Right? Or wrong? Zara and this boy were plied with alcohol and were given a romantic situation and the option to stay over night. They clearly fancied each other, so they had sex. This is all that happened. Everyone was a bit shocked, I'll admit. BUT she did nothing wrong. It's the aim of the show. Every single girl in there has had sex and no one blew it out of proportion the way it has been with her.
How fucking dare they put out to the world, that having sex, deems you to be not a good role model. They should have it in their contracts that 'Miss GB' can't go on reality TV if they feel that strongly about it. As a competition for women, I am so disappointed and disgusted that they'd disrespect a woman like this. 'We understand everyone makes mistakes' - what was her mistake here? Please tell me because I'm failing to understand.
The way the other females acted about the situation in the house was disgusting, don't women realise by calling another girl a slag, it doesn't make you any better of a person? I bet every single girl in there would call themselves a feminist if asked. This is NOT feminism. Feminism is equality. The ability for a woman to have sex with a man if she wants to, wherever she wants to as long as she's not breaking any laws, and to afterwards not be treated like a 'slag'
Think about how the man was treated after the situation. First lots of jokey laughs 'hahaha you banged her' funny funny, very funny. Then, he almost gets SYMPATHY because he had sex with Zara when he likes Olivia?! WHAT. WHAT?!?
Meanwhile Zara is being called a slut by Olivia, and crying because she feels so awful. Where is the equality? Why is sex so normal when it comes to men, and so scandalised when it's a female?
Personally, I wouldn't ever go on a reality TV show, let alone have sex on one. But fucking hell, people run their own lives, and can make their own life choices you know. Please, let's stop judging each other, especially females, we need to stick together and build each other up, not tear each other down at every given fucking opportunity.
I hope Miss GB understand what they are doing and what they are really saying by making that statement.
Ayme x
